Globalization brings with it new forms of neoliberal domination, posing daunting challenges to critical theory. Questions regarding democracy and alternative paradigms are being asked and deliberated among critical scholars and intellectuals around the world. With a shared concern, we organize the following forum set, inviting prominent international critical theory scholars to discuss on two topics, “democracy” and “the Southern/Asian turn of theory,” which bear on Asia and have extensively attracted the global attention of critical humanities and social sciences. We sincerely anticipate your attendance at this intellectual exchange.
